(A FB Memory from 3 years ago. This was originally written on the 5th of March '2022. It was a Women's Day concert, which had some of Mumbai's best Women singers on stage.)
I think I chose a really awesome show, for my first time back at the NCPA, after a gap of two long years, due to the pandemic. The Tata Theatre truly is one of my favourite places in Mumbai; and it has been so difficult, to stay away from it for such a long time.
Samantha Noella, Shazneen Arethna, Suzanne D'Mello Misquitta and Eden Alexander were just so amazing, singing together; backed by a really good band too. They picked some fabulous songs, that have been sung by many awesome women; and it goes without saying, they did full justice to every song.π
It was great to hear Faustin Missier, playing in the band also.π I was very proud, to finally be there to hear one of my old students from DB, Vivian D'Souza on Bass Guitar, playing 'Live' at a concert at the NCPA.π
The other musicians were amazing too. I especially loved all those varied percussion instruments. They added so much to every song.ππΌππΌππΌ
What a feeling to hear a 'Live Performance' again, after two long years. Enjoying the entire show with friends and a couple of students too, that I happened to meet at the NCPA; and realising that we had all booked tickets so close to one another, was an added bonus.ππΆ
Was also happy to meet some fabulous singers, that I have enjoyed listening to over the last two years - Shanelle Ferreira, little Kaydeynce Mendonca and one of my favourites Eshaan Shaikh.❤
Travelling by Mumbai's lifeline again, after a very long gap, and discovering that nothing has changed at all in two years, was fun too.
Catching a glimpse of the sea again, at Marine Drive, and watching the sun set over the waters, is also something I haven't done, in such a long time.
(An old FB Memory, from this day 5 years ago. Written on 8th March '2020. It was one of the very last shows I went for, before everything shut down, due to the Lockdown.)
Music has the ability to make you happy and to lift your spirits, like nothing else can.π
It had to be a completely uplifting and joyful afternoon, when you've spent it listening to some of the best Rock n' Roll hits, performed 'Live' in the award winning Musical, 'Million Dollar Quartet'.πΆ
This 'International Cast', of exceptionally talented singers and musicians, had the audience swaying and tapping their feet, to the beat of every song; and it was fun, to see so many get up and dance too.ππΊ
The fact that I got a chance to watch and enjoy this Broadway and West End Musical, right here in Mumbai, at the Jamshed Bhabha, NCPA, was so great. Thanks to the team that brought this Production to India, once again.π
I usually only post things that I have written myself, on my blog.✍️
But a few days ago, I came across this Forward, on someone's page.
Pooh and Piglet have always been 'My Favourites'. So, I had to share this, because it was so sweet. π
“It’s a quiet night tonight, isn’t it, Piglet?” said Pooh, gazing up at the stars.
“It certainly is,” said Piglet, his little paw resting on his Friend’s.
“What do you think the stars talk about?” asked Pooh. “When we’re not listening, I mean.”
Piglet thought for a moment. “I think they talk about Light,” he said. “About how even in the darkest skies, they shine as best as they can, no matter how small they are. Because they know someone, somewhere, is looking up and needs to see them.”
Pooh smiled. “That’s a lovely thought, Piglet. Do you think we’re like that too? Little Stars, shining for each other?”
Piglet nodded. “Yes, Pooh. I think that’s what we’re meant to do. To be a Little Light for someone, even when the night feels very big and very dark.”
Pooh sat quietly for a moment, then said, “If that’s true, Piglet, then I think you’re the 'Brightest Star' I know. Even on my gloomiest days, you make me feel like everything will be alright.”
“And you’re mine, Pooh,” said Piglet, softly. “Because with you, I always feel safe, even when the woods seem scary, or the path isn’t clear.”
The two Friends sat together under the stars, wrapped in the kind of quiet Love, that doesn’t need grand gestures or fancy words. Just Presence. Just Care. Just two Lights, shining for each other in the great big world.
“What do you think we should do tomorrow?” asked Pooh after a while.
“I think we should just Keep Shining,” said Piglet.✨️π
...and then, reading that Forward, made me think of this song. It matches what Pooh and Piglet were talking about, perfectly.❤️
THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR πΆ (Song Lyrics)
- Dionne Warwick ft. Elton John, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder
And I never thought I'd feel this way,
And as far as I'm concerned,
I'm glad I got the chance to say,
That I do believe I Love You.
And if I should ever go away,
Well, then close your eyes and try,
To feel the way we do today,
And then, if you can remember.
Keep Smiling, Keep Shining,
Knowing you can always 'Count on Me', for sure,
That's what Friends are for.
For good times and bad times,
I'll be on your side, forever more,
That's what Friends are for.
Well, you came and opened me,
And now there's so much more I see,
And so by the way I Thank You.
Oh and then, for the times when we're apart,
Well, then close your eyes and know,
These words are coming from my heart.
And then if you can remember.
Oh, Keep Smiling and Keep Shining,
Knowing you can always 'Count on Me', for sure,
That's what Friends are for.
In good times and bad times,
I'll be on your side forever more,
Oh, that's what Friends are for.
Keep Smiling, Keep Shining,
Knowing you can always 'Count on Me', for sure,
That's what Friends are for.
For good times and bad times,
I'll be on your side forever more,
That's what Friends are for.
Keep Smiling, Keep Shining,
Knowing you can always 'Count on Me', for sure,
'Cause I tell you, That's what Friends are for.
For good times and for bad times,
I'll be on your side forever more,
That's what Friends are for
(That's what friends are for, ya)
On me for sure,
(Count on me for sure,
Count on me for sure.)
That's what Friends are for.
Keep Smiling, Keep Shining. ✨️π
(Video shared from another YT page and the lovely picture and Forward, I just found on the Internet.)
(FB Memories from different years, written on this day.)
2nd March '2020 ✍️
30 years today, since the day your life came to a sudden and abrupt end, in an unexpected way.
30 years today, of longing and wishing and hoping, that you were still here, almost every single day.
30 years, since I first learned what it means to lose a loved one, my little brother Nathan, when I was only a 10 year old child.
30 years seems like a long time, and as time goes by, I have learned how to cope and smile, like you smiled.
The one thing that has lived on though, even 30 years since the 2nd of March'1990, are the memories of this day.
And even though, I know you won't be reading this today, I guess it's just my way of remembering you on this day, even 30 years later.✨️π
2nd March '2022 ✍️
32 years today, since I couldn't even say Goodbye;
32 years of wondering and constantly asking 'Why'?π€
Over three decades of wishing you were still here,
So that I could be your bossy old 'big sister' dear.π
But 'Life is a puzzle' that I don't even try to comprehend,
A mystery, so complex, with unexpected twists at every bend.
So, every moment I think of you and miss you more,
And hope someday we meet again, on some heavenly shore.✨️π
2nd March '2024 ✍️
34 years today, since that untimely and unexpected sudden farewell, on the 2nd of March 1990.
In an age of taking countless digital pics, where we constantly save more moments in photographs and videos, than we ever have the time to go back and look through again; there is something extra-special about old photo albums and the few pictures we have, of precious memories, with those that aren't with us anymore.
I never stop wishing, I could have had more pics and more memories; but life didn't exactly give me a choice. Of course, I do treasure and cherish the photographs that I still have from back then, even though they may be only a few.
You are always remembered Nathan and forever missed.✨️π
2nd March '2025 ✍️
2nd of March' 1990.❤️
35 years later...
I still remember each moment of that unforgettable day, like it was yesterday.πͺ
I often wonder, 'What if that day had turned out differently'?π€
People often tell you to 'Forget and to Move On' with your Life; but I strongly disagree. I Love to Remember, because what are we without 'Special Happy Memories'.π
I never understand the logic of 'Moving On'.
How can we 'Move On', from the 'Loved Ones', who once made up our entire world? π€
How can we 'Just Forget' them, simply because many, many years or decades have gone by? π€
What if I was the one who had gone first, and I was just forgotten, as the years passed by? π€
I don't think I would like being replaced by someone else, so easily, and completely forgotten by my Family.
So, I 'Choose to Remember', every single day.
And, I 'Choose to Hold On', at every step of the way. ✨️π
Days like today, make me think of songs like these. πΆ❤️
Some days are just more difficult to get through than others, even 35 years later...and when you have to multiply those days by three, you have a lot of those days, all year round.πͺ
But Thanks to those who always remind me, that a lot of my friends and loved ones still care. Each Like, Hug and Comment on a FB post that I share, on a day like today, (that may be 'Just Another Day' to everyone else; but one, that is 'Significant and Important' to me), means so much.
What if we could write a letter to our loved ones, who have journeyed on?
What if they could reply?
What if there was some way or someone, who could deliver those letters back and forth, between heaven and earth?π€
These imaginary situations and scenarios, have been very creatively woven into the Storyline, of the play called 'The Far Post', which is set in a 'Post-Office', at a Border. A play by 'Dur Se Brothers', that is Written, Directed and Performed by Yuki Ellias, together with the Choreographer and Co-Performer of the show, Tapas Boro, and the innovative use of masks and puppetry.π
Yuki is a well-known name in the world of Theatre - Acting, Directing and Teaching too, but she is also an old college batchmate and friend from Xavier's; and I was just 'So Proud' from beginning to end, as I watched her in action, performing on that stage at the Prithvi Theatre, on the 26th of February '25.π€❤️
The Play is a story of two enemy soldiers, killed in battle; who embark on a journey into the after-life, with the help of an endearing 'Postman Aunty' and her pet Goldfish.π
It is a 75 minute play, which kind of reminded me, of a Charlie Chaplin 'Silent Film', because there are very few dialogues in it. But despite that, the audience was completely engrossed and focussed right through, because of so many fascinating things, happening on stage.πππ
The wonderful acting by Yuki and Tapas, was supported by a great backstage and technical crew. The smooth and seamless transitions by the two actors, with the masks and puppets and the switching of characters, the choreographed movements, the effects created by the Sets, Props, the perfectly synced Sound and Lights,(including a little shadow-play also); and most of all, the lovely background Music and Singing too, all collectively added so much to the performance.πΆ
I loved that the Folk Fusion Band 'SOFIYUM' from Gangtok, Sikkim, played some soft and melodious music and songs in this play, 'LIVE', while the two actors (playing various characters), took the story forward. All the songs are in the Lepcha language, with English sub-titles. It was lovely to hear the multi-talented Yuki, joining the band, in singing a couple of songs also.π
I was fascinated by a lot of things in this play; and I could see, that the rest of the audience was, as well. This very 'Unique and Different' play, in a Language that we do not know or speak, had the audience reacting in many ways, right through, with smiles, laughter and even a few tears.
When Performers use their Talent and Creativity, to think 'Out of the Box' and do something, which is so 'Unusual and Innovative', the result is always a very 'Interesting Experience'.π✨️❤️
Have been listening to different Goan Musicians, Tammy and Roy, Jonathan and Nashvin (Music Fever Co). and Xanisha and Croydon (XaniCroy), singing 'Live' in Goa, over this past week.π
Apart from the Konkani and Portuguese songs, which I enjoyed listening to, all of them also had a few lovely English songs, in their respective set-lists.π
These are three of the songs which they sang, that I really liked.
We live in a 'Pretend, Make Believe World', where nothing is Real, and 'Truly' what it seems to be, anyway.π€·π»♀️
Thankfully, we don't have to actually be in Love, to listen to a 'Love Song'.πΆ We can still enjoy the beautiful 'Songs about Love', even in the midst of, all the crazy and stupid 'Games People Play', all around us.
L-O-V-E ππΆ
- Nat King Cole
TRULY ππΆ
- Sonial Saigal and Beven Fonseca (Lionel Richie)
REST YOUR LOVE ON ME ππΆ
- Bee Gees (Andy Gibb and Olivia Newton John duet)
When the only people who really 'Loved' us Unconditionally, who truly 'Cared' and who were 'Always There' for us, are all now 'Somewhere Out There', beyond the blue; songs with lyrics like these, make a lot of sense to us.✍️πΆ
Whether we sit quietly by the ocean, staring out at the 'Horizon', to where the 'Blue Skies' appear to meet the waves; or whether we're just looking up at the Moon, on a dark starlit night. Songs like these, just make us feel like 'Our Loved Ones' up there, still communicate with us, from 'Far Beyond the Stars'.✨️
Even if, it is only our over-active 'Imagination', at work; sometimes, it is these silly 'Illusions', which we create for ourselves, that actually get us through each moment of 'Our Solitary Journey', through this 'Life', and take us, from one day to the next.π€·π»♀️
(An old FB Memory...I wrote this 6 years ago, on this day, 11th February, 2019.
The years keep passing by, almost in the 'blink of an eye'. The Memories, they remain.✨️π
'Family', and especially a 'Mother', can never be replaced. No one, can ever take her place, in our lives.π’)
For 5 months now, my mind has been on 'Re-play' mode. The smallest things trigger off a memory. A scene, a sound, an object, an event...Little things transport me back in time, in a matter of moments.
I keep re-living the last few days with you, the long struggle we went through together and I keep wondering 'What if?'π€
If only I could actually turn back time...
If only things had turned out differently...
There is so much I miss about you Mama, every moment of every day.π’❤️
I just wish you were still here. ✨️π
(The Pictures are from various places on the Internet.)
Two 'Uplifting Songs' to listen to, whenever anyone needs to hear words like these.π
When the only people, who used to say words like these to us often, once upon a time, are far, far away, up in those 'blue skies' today;π and whenever there's no one else to say 'Comforting Words' like these to us anymore, just listen to songs like these on 'Repeat Mode'.πΆ✍️
It's what I do, and it works like 'Magic';✨️ at least for a little while.π€·π»♀️
I'LL BE HERE (Song Lyrics) ππΆ
- Colbie Caillat and Sheryl Crow
Low, when you're feelin' low,
And you just don't know where to run to;
And broke, if your heart's been broke,
And you feel like you're all alone.
If you need something to Believe in,
If you're lookin' for,
A Light to Guide you Home,
Just look inside,
Your Light is shinin',
Brighter than you know,
You should know.
I'm never gonna let you down,
Always gonna build you up;
When you're feelin' lost,
I will always find you, Love.
Never gonna walk away,
Always gonna have your back,
And if nothin' else,
You can always count on that.
When you need me, I will be here,
I'll be here
I'll be here
I'll be here.
Laugh, I will make you laugh,
If you ever feel like cryin';
Close, I will hold you close,
You won't be alone anymore.
If you need someone to 'Believe' in,
If you're reachin' for a Hand,
To Guide you Home.
Just take my Hand,
And I won't let you go,
'Cause you should know.
I'm never gonna let you down,
Always gonna build you up,
When you're feelin' lost,
I will always find you, Love.
Never gonna walk away,
Always gonna have your back,
And if nothin' else,
You can always count on that.
When you need me, I will be here,
I'll be here
I'll be here
I'll be here.
If you need something to 'Believe' in,
If you feel you've reached the end of the road,
Don't be afraid, I'll always Guide you Home,
You should know.
I'm never gonna let you down,
I'm always gonna build you up,
When you're feelin' lost,
I will always find you, Love.
I'm never gonna walk away,
Always gonna have your back,
And if nothin' else,
You can always count on that.
When you need me, I will be here,
I'll be here
I'll be here
I'll be here.✨️π
COUNT ON ME (Song Lyrics) ππΆ
- Whitney Houston and CeCe Winans
Count on me, through thick and thin,
A 'Friendship' that will never end;
When you are weak, I will be strong,
Helping you to carry on,
Call on me, I will be there
Don't be afraid,
Please 'Believe' me, when I say,
Count on me.
I can see, it's hurting you,
I can feel your pain,
It's hard to see the sunshine, through the rain;
I know sometimes it seems as if,
It's never gonna end,
But you'll get through it,
Just don't give in.
'cause you can,
Count on me, through thick and thin,
A 'Friendship' that will never end;
When you are weak, I will be strong,
Helping you to carry on;
Call on me, I will be there,
Don't be afraid;
Please 'Believe' me, when I say,
Count on me.
I know sometimes, it seems as if,
We're standing all alone;
But we'll get through it,
'Cause Love won't let us fall.
Count on me, through thick and thin,
A 'Friendship' that will never end;
When you are weak, I will be strong,
Helping you to carry on;
Call on me, I will be there,
Don't be afraid,
Please 'Believe' me, when I say,
Count on me.
There's a place, inside all of us,
Where our 'Faith in Love' begins;
You should reach to find the 'Truth in Love',
The answer is there within.
I know, that Life can make you feel,
It's much harder than it really is;
But we'll get through it,
Just don't give in.
Count on me, through thick and thin,
A 'Friendship' that will never end;
When you are weak, I will be strong,
Helping you to carry on;
Call on me, I will be there,
Don't be afraid.
Please 'Believe' me when I say
Count on me
Count on me
Count on me
Count on me
Count on me
Count on me
Oh yes you can
Oh I can
Sure you can
So glad I can count on me
Count on you girl.✨️π
I spent a few hours today, with one of my closest friends from DB. Was nice to have Lunch with her, on the 'Feast Day' of St.John Bosco.π
The two of us joined the school together, way back in 2004; and over the years, we became more like 'Family'.π
I miss a lot of things about that wonderful place, which I always called 'My Second Home'. But most of all, I miss the long conversations, that we used to have, about anything and everything.
We do meet occasionally, but it doesn't compare with seeing one another, every single day.
Thankfully, I will be meeting her again tomorrow, together with all my other colleagues. It will be quite an awesome 'Reunion', to see everyone again, after an entire year.π
Since this has been an extremely 'Nostalgic' week for me, with DB being in my thoughts, quite a lot; I also remembered, how I actually landed up being a Teacher at DB.
It really wasn't my 'First Choice', although it eventually became, the 'Only Place' that I ever worked in.π€·π»♀️
Having studied in two 'Jesuit Instituions' during my College years, my first preference was a Jesuit School in Bandra. My Mum was quite pleased with my choice, because she had been a Bandra Girl. Her brother had studied in that same school as well; while she and her sisters, had studied in the school, just across the road.
The job was mine for the taking too, because a Teacher was retiring that year, (who coincidentally also shared the same name as me). I remember the Principal telling me, that one Lynette would be replacing another, if I decided to join them.π
However, it had just happened, that a few days before that Interview, (in the place where I was born, and where I lived, for the first few years of my life); I had also very casually, met one of the Supervisors from DB, on a train ride back home from College. Her daughter had been a childhood friend of mine; and when she heard that I was doing my B.Ed; she told me to apply at DB also.
So, even though I was more keen on joining Stanislaus; just because of that 'Chance Encounter' that day, I still applied at Don Bosco.π
Looking back today, I guess that 'Unexpected Meeting', was just supposed to happen that day.π
Since I had grown up with lots of childhood friends, who had been DB boys, I used to hear a lot about their 'Fun School'. I also had a couple of friends, who were Salesian Brothers, and I had always enjoyed, Interacting and Communicating with them. I think, because of all those 'Old Connections', joining DB, didn't seem like a bad idea to me either.π
So, I told the Principal of St.Stanislaus, that I had also applied at Don Bosco; and since it would cut off the time of 'Commuting to Work' everyday, I would probably consider that, if I got in.π€·π»♀️
The Principal in DB at the time, (who will always be my 'Most Favourite' Principal ever, and who also celebrates his Birthday today, on the Feast of Don Bosco), was more than happy to have me join them.π
And so, I ended up becoming a part of the 'DB Family'. It was a decision, that I truthfully made, mainly to avoid travelling very far everyday; since I had done more than enough of that, during my 8 years in College and University, and it was quite exhausting.
Something that I decided to do, purely for 'Practical Reasons', ended up being the 'Most Wonderful Decision of My Life', because I spent an 'Extremely Rewarding and Fulfilling, Two Decades of being a Teacher', at DB.π€π
18 long years, when I was 'Blessed to Be a Blessing', to countless young children. Something, that not everyone, gets a chance to do, during their Lifetime.✨️π
I often feel, that I would have enjoyed working in a Jesuit school too; since they had made my own College and B.Ed. years, the 'Six Best Years of my Student Life'.❤️
But the Salesians, are pretty good at making the whole 'Teaching-Learning Experience', very enjoyable, for the Students and the Teachers too.❤️
More than anything, they encouraged 'Creativity and Innovativeness', which is what I Loved most about the school. I got innumerable opportunities, to use and develop so many of my 'Talents, Gifts and my Creativity', both in and out of the classroom; for which I will be 'Forever Grateful' to them.❤️
Days like today, always take me 'Down Memory Lane'; and this walk, turned into quite a long 'Marathon Walk'.π But I guess, there's nothing better, (every once in a way), than looking back on the 'Good Times' and the 'Happy Memories', that we've had along Life's Journey; and very Gratefully, 'Counting our Blessings'.✨️✍️
(I just found this picture somewhere on the Internet and thought it matched this 'Extra Long' post beautifully.)π
I spent a couple of hours, with an old DB Teacher Friend today. She now lives out of Mumbai, and was here just for a day.❤️
As I was talking to her, it 'got me thinking about' those extremely 'Close Bonds and Unforgettable Friendships', that I have shared with so many, many people, connected to the DB Family.✨️
Since Don Bosco was a neighbouring School and Parish, for most of my life, I've had Batchmates, who studied in the school, even when I was a student myself; and I interacted with many others, as part of Deanery Youth Activities or the Choirs, when I was in the Youth Group, or when I was singing in the Parish Choir.
Later on of course, since I worked in the School myself for nearly two decades, I made innumerable friends, from the extended Salesian Family everywhere, because of the school.
These 'Friendships and Connections', were not just in my own School, but in various 'DB Institutions', all over the city, across the country, and in other parts of the world as well.π
Each one of those Friends, will always remain 'Extra-Special', even though I hardly meet most of them anymore, except very occasionally.π€π
Two of my oldest and probably, the first Salesian Friends I ever made, way back when I was a student in school, were Fr.Isaac Arackaparambil and Fr.Glen Fernandes. Both their Families, still live in IC.π
They had only just joined the Salesians back then, and were studying at Don Bosco Lonavla, We met during the 'Vacation Bible Joy' in the Parish, when they came home for their holidays.
It is fun to listen to this video again, just a day before the Feast of Don Bosco. If any Friends from IC or the Salesian Family everywhere (Priests, Teachers, Students and their Parents), happen to see this post someday, I'm sure they will enjoy watching this. π
Towards the end of January each year, almost every DB Institution has a very Festive atmosphere. Everyone is either preparing for the Feast Day Celebrations on the 31st, or for their Annual Days, because a lot of DB Schools and Colleges, have it at some time around this week.
I've been seeing many posts, from Friends in different DB Institutions, sharing all the preparations and the festivities. It made me feel extremely 'Nostalgic'.
So, I went and listened to a lot of the DB Songs that I've discovered, over the last two decades. These are a few of my Favourites.π
(A FB Memory from last year, on this day, 28th January '2024.)
In a week, that has left most of us friends, completely lost in thought, and bewildered by how 'Uncertain' life can be, this concert put together by Winston Fernandes, in Borivali on the 26th of January, 2024, added some Music to all our lives. πΆ
'Pulse' is a group of mostly friends from IC, some of Winston's students, and this time, a few guest performers also.
They were doing this concert after a very long time, and since almost everyone is busy with work, meeting for a lot of practices was tough too. They did a great job though and everyone who was there, enjoyed the evening.πππ
Like both Winston and Karen said, during the course of the evening: We owe our love for the old songs, to our Parents. They are the ones who first introduced us to Music, that was popular, well before we were even born.
It was nice to hear 'Pulse and Friends' singing songs across many genres, and especially a lot of the older evergreen melodies, that most of us love.π❤️
Winston Fernandes (The brain behind the event, Vocals, Keyboard, Guitar, Voice parts arranger and lots, lots more)
- Savio D'Silva (Lead Guitar) - One fabulous Musician
- Roshan Thomas (Bass Guitar) - I was a 'Proud Teacher' as I watched Roshan play, because he is also one of my students from DB.
- Karen Rai Kingsellers, Melissa Serrao and Johncie Correia (Vocals)
- Trevor Loyola and Carmelita Fernandes - Guest Vocalists
The group did a 'Special Dedication' during the Concert, with very heavy hearts, to one of our dear friends (who is also a part of 'Pulse'). She lost both her husband (who was our friend too, and had only recently turned 50) and his mum, 6 days apart in the same week. In fact, his mum passed away on the day of the concert itself. We have no words to express how we feel, but we all share the pain of the Family.π€❤️
(What an unforgettable few weeks those were, last year in January!π
Two days ago, on Sunday the 26th, 2025, which was exactly a year later, we sang a couple of hymns, at both the graves of our friend and his mother, together with many of our old Choir friends.
I saw this song yesterday, shared by a singer friend on her page. I don't know the person who composed and sang this song; but I thought it was so, so sweet.π
If you read the description on this YT video, it will tell you, that Radha Thomas wrote this one for her 3 year old grandson.π
He is probably just learning the letters of the Alphabet. So, she thought of gifting him a 'Jazzy Alphabet Song', that would give him an Education in Jazz Music and Musicians.✨️πΆ
What fun to have a Grandmother, who does really cool things like this, for her Grandson. He may still be too young to understand every word in this song; but he will still pick up the tune and he will love the great video for sure.π
What a 'Special Gift' this is! I'm sure he'll love it even more, as he grows up. He will definitely learn a lot about Jazz Music and Musicians, at a very young age, because of this song.π
(Last year, on the 20th of January '2024, an old friend, who had just turned 50, disappeared from our lives Forever...Six days later, very sadly, his mum passed away too.π
It was an extremely difficult time for their Family, to lose two loved ones in just six days. But that week, left all of us friends, feeling 'Completely Lost' too.π
We didn't meet and talk often, because I hadn't been singing with the Choir, for quite a long while; but we'd been friends for many, many years. Connected by our Choir, we had shared numerous happy times and memories - Choir picnics, get-togethers, sing-song sessions around the piano and lots and lots of delicious home-baked cakes.
A few weeks before he passed away, we had all just happened to meet, after a long, long time, at a Christmas Street Festival, when the singing duo Reena and Lindsay, sang in the Colony.
The picture we took, at that event, is one that I will always cherish.π I'm so glad I took that photograph that day. Sometimes, we never know, when it may be the last time, that we may meet and talk to someone, or 'Smile for a picture, Together'.)π’

The most beautiful selection of songs of all time. Live music from a wonderful ancestral home in Loutolim, Goa; with some amazing Goan musicians.π
Selwyn Menezes on the violin is just so talented; and his amazing skill as he played that violin, made all the songs sound so magical. ✨️π»
Siddharth Cota on guitar and vocals and Arvind Menezes on percussion (that is his awesome house in the background).
Together with Anika Noronha and the one and only, Carlton Braganza.π€πΆ

(21st Anniversary of Nostalgia - Part 1)
20th January '2021 - Loutolim, Goa
The first part of the celebration of '21 years of Nostalgia' with Margarida Tavora, was one of my favourite JJ shows, because of the lovely songs (including many all-time Favourites), which they played and sang that day.π

(21st Anniversary of Nostalgia - Part 2)
20th January '2021 - Nostalgia, Goa
The Celebration continued later that same evening at 'Nostalgia', Raia Goa.
Beginning with some 'Live music' from some very gifted musicians in Goa, including Brian Bones on Bass, Edwin Fernandes on guitar, our very own musician from IC, Uncle Rockson Rodrigues on Keyboard and vocals❤ and Tony on drums.
If you missed Part 1 of the celebrations from Loutolim a little while back, make sure you watch the previous live video that I shared. That was truly awesome!π
This is Part 2 from Nostalgia; with Anika Noronha and Carlton Braganza.πΆπ€
Ending with the awesome Selwyn Menezes on violin and Siddharth Cota on guitar and vocals.π
If you didn't watch these 'Nostalgia' sessions back then, four years ago, listen now...Part 1 especially, was just so awesome.✨️ I guess, because it had many of my favourite songs, and that violin.π»π

The 'Beatles Tribute Concert' by 'Silly Point Productions' at St.Andrew's Auditorium today, (5 years ago, back in 2020) was really enjoyable.
A fabulous live band and four energetic performers, Hormuz Ragina, Sarosh Nanavaty, Naquita D'Souza and Arish Bhiwandiwala, who are all very, very good.πππ
They had the audience singing along and dancing too, as they performed so many of the Beatles Classics with so much enthusiasm. I would definitely love to hear them all sing again.πΆπ
Those who missed their shows so far, the next one is on 15th March, 2020 at the NCPA. If you enjoy the Beatles songs, DO NOT MISS IT.π
(This was one of the last concerts I went for, before the pandemic forced all performances and shows to be cancelled. Their next 'Live' show scheduled for March that year, sadly didn't happen, till a few years later.)
Two talented Musicians, that I greatly admire and have loved listening to, for close to three decades, playing a few beautiful Piano Duets.π
Ben and Bosco Fernandez are two extremely talented Pianists, (originally from Bombay, and later moved to Auckland, NZ) who come from a family of Musicians.π
Sharing some of the lovely duets, that they played together recently.

I remember feeling an 'Instant Connect' with Tammy, Roy and Gavin, when I heard them singing some Konkani and Portuguese songs on the 'Soul Fry Community', over three years ago. (Over four years now, in 2025).
The songs from the yesteryears that they sing, made me feel so nostalgic and just transported me to family sing-song sessions, during my holidays in Goa as a child.✨️❤️
If you were at the DPRC Lawns in Bandra last night, you would realise that I wasn't the only one there, who feels that 'Connection' with the kind of Music that 'Silver Linings' sing.
In fact, the songs they sing have appealed to so many people all over the world, that it has even taken them to other countries, for multiple concerts in 2023 as well...and in every single place where they perform, they are 'Loved' in just the same way. Large crowds of people turn up at all their shows, simply because of that 'Musical Connect'.πΆπ
More than the Music though, what I love most about them, is that there is a 'Genuine Warmth', in the way they meet and greet everyone, who comes to listen to them, wherever they sing. They value each person who makes the time to come for their shows, and who has contributed towards their musical journey, in the smallest of ways.
According to me, that is what makes everyone Love them so much and what makes them 'Special'.π€π
As 'Coldplay Fever' hits the city of Mumbai, I went back to listen to this song, once more today.
I watched these videos a couple of weeks ago, and I think this was such a 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' way, for 'Coldplay' to pay tribute to an Actor, that many of us have loved as kids, in movies like Mary Poppins.π
Was reading through some of the comments on these videos, and apparently the actor is 99 years old. Wow! He seems to be quite active, considering his age. Still dancing and jumping around.π
I haven't really listened to very many of the 'Coldplay' songs, but I think this one, is very sweet. These videos will be such a 'Cherished Memory' for his Family, when he finally bids Goodbye to this world.❤️
ALL MY LOVE πΆ
- Coldplay
'Until I die,
Let me hold you if you cry,
Be My One, Two, Three, Forever'.π
(I think those are the sweetest lines in the song.)
THE DIRECTOR'S CUT VIDEO
I loved watching the interaction between Dick Van Dyke and Chris Martin, in this video.π
'For Now and Always,
Till the end of my days,
You've got All My Love.'❤️
(SONG LYRICS) πΆ
We've been through low,
Been through sunshine,
Been through snow,
All the colours of the weather.
We've been through high,
Every corner of the sky,
And still we're holding on together.
You got All My Love,
Whether it rains or pours,
I'm All Yours.
You've got All My Love,
Whether it rains,
It remains.
You've got All My Love.
Until I die,
Let me hold you if you cry,
Be My One, Two, Three, Forever.π
'Cause you got All My Love,
Whether it rains or pours,
I'm All Yours.
You've got All My Love,
Whether it rains,
It remains,
You've got All My Love.
La-la, la-la, la, lay
Whether it rains or pours,
I'm All Yours.
La-la, la-la, la, lay
That's all, all I can say,
Ooh, you got All My Love.
Oh, for Now and Always,
'til the end of my days,
You got All My Love,
You've got All My Love.✨️π
When you can't find the Light,
That got you through cloudy days;
When the Stars ain't shinin' bright,
You feel like you've lost your way.
When those candle lights of home,
Burn so very far away;
Well, you got to let your soul shine,
Just like my daddy used to say.
He used to say, "Soulshine,
It's better than sunshine,
It's better than moonshine,
Damn sure better than rain.
Hey, now people don't mind,
We all feel this way sometime;
You got to let your soul shine,
Shine till the break of day."
I grew up thinkin' that I had it made,
Gonna make it on my own;
Life can take the strongest man,
Make him feel so alone.
Now sometimes I feel a cold wind,
Blowin' through my achin' bones;
I think back to what my daddy said,
He said, "Boy, in this darkness before the dawn.
Let your soul shine,
It's better than sunshine,
It's better than moonshine,
Damn sure better than rain.
Yeah, now people don't mind,
We all feel this way sometimes;
You gotta let your soul shine
Shine till the break of day."
Sometimes a man can feel this emptiness,
Like a woman has robbed him of his very soul;
A woman too, God knows, she can feel like this,
And when your world seems cold,
You got to let your spirit take control.
Talking 'bout soulshine,
It's better than sunshine,
It's better than moonshine,
Damn sure better than rain;
And now people don't mind,
We all feel this way sometimes,
Gotta let your soul shine,
Shine till the break of day.
Oh, it's better than sunshine,
It's better than moonshine,
Damn sure better than rain.
Yeah, now people don't mind,
We all feel this way sometimes,
You gotta let your soul shine,
Shine till the break of day.πΆ
I don't really listen to the 'Coldplay' songs at all; but since they're going to be playing in Mumbai this weekend, I just thought I would post one of their songs, that I like.
Heard this 'Live' version, from a Jacob Collier concert today.
(An old FB Memory, written on this day, 4 years ago, on 13th January '2021.)
While I may seem like a person who smiles a lot and is happy all the time,π I have actually spent a life-time of practising this, every single day.
It's easier to 'Smile through your Tears', when you really take the time, to let the tears flow, without any limits. Maybe not for the world to see; but when you are by yourself.π’
I am so glad Luke Coutinho has actually put all of this into words now; and backed it, by scientific research too.
So, I'm more than happy, to share this; because Luke is someone I have followed for a few years now; and I know, through personal experience, that he and his team really give sound advice.
Do listen and then pass it on, because people really need to 'Learn to Cry', a whole lot more than they do.ππ
This song was heard just about everywhere, in the years when the movie 'Titanic' had released. Till it reached a point, where it became a little irritating, because it was kind of overplayed. It is a good song though, with very meaningful words.✍️πΆ
I listened to this 'Instrumental Duet' of the song, a couple of days ago, after a very long time.π·π» I discovered these two musicians during those pandemic days, and I still listen to them occasionally. I like the harmony between the two instruments, in their version of the song.ππΆ
